Coppershop & Distillery Operations

We operate a small manufacturing business producing hand-built copper mugs. Our brand, Handlebend, has been built around the idea of promoting "Good Times", that is: time well spent with loved ones, making memories. This is the foundation of our mugs and our ethos. Recently, we completed a two-year project on a hand-built 250 gallon copper whiskey still. We are launching a craft distillery in our building, directly adjacent to our Coppershop.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Operations person to join our team in a dynamic role. This is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes with regards to our copper mugs as well as our distilled products. As an Operations Associate, you will play a key role in maintaining high-quality production standards, customer service, and team dynamics within our brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Build copper mugs start to finish, to keep up with annual demand.

  • Operate and monitor distillery equipment to ensure efficient production of craft spirits.

  • Run first-point of contact in customer service for the Handlbend brand, to include emails, phone calls, and walk-ins interesed in our copper, our spirits, our building, and our story.

  • Manage copper orders, including custom requests, according to Handlebend's procedures.

  • Manage the buying process from order through shipping for Handlebend copper customers.

  • Sanitize work areas (distillery) and maintain equipment (Copper shop and distillery) to maintain a clean and safe environment.

  • Fabricate necessary components for coppershop and distillery processes as needed.

  • Assist in inventory management within the warehouse, including receiving and storing raw materials, parts, and ingredients.

  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance on equipment, and systems.

  • Being "Handy" and having a problem solving mindset.

  • Experience or knowledge in brewing/distilling processes or processes is a plus.

  • Familiarity with warehouse or manufacturing operations, including tools & power tool use.

  • Mechanical & troubleshooting knowledge to assist in equipment issues.

  • Basic understanding of good customer service, possessing good people skills.

  • Ability to effectively sanitize equipment and clean organized workspaces.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.

  • A foundational understanding of the difference between a "brand" and a "company" or "product".

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
